107 travelers among fresh cases, Recovery rate over 68 percent in UT

Srinagar, Aug 10 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded 470 fresh cases of deadly virus including 107 travelers taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to over 25000. The officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the exact number of positive cases in the UT have reached to 25367 that includes 19,654 from Kashmir and 5,713 from Jammu division. Officials said, among 470 new cases, 368 belong to Kashmir division while as 102 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 19,654 including 13,519 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 5,713 including 3,856 recoveries and 35 deaths. They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,514 including 5,692 from Kashmir division and 1,822 from Jammu division. With 372 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 17,375 which is 68.48 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,263 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 5,713. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 115 from Srinagar, 41 from Baramulla, 30 from Pulwama, 10 from Kulgam, 14 from Shopian, 16 from Anantnag, 31 from Budgam, 17 from Kupwara, 79 from Bandipora and 15 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 102 from Jammu division include 58 from Jammu, 08 from Kuthua, 05 from Rajouri, 16 from Ramban, 02 from Udhampur, 05 from Samba, 04 from Doda, 02 from Kishtiwar and 02 from Reasi, " officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 6,263 positive cases including 154 deaths and 3,698 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,178 including 82 deaths and 1,643 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1,860 including 1,140 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Pulwama,1,619 including 1,418 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,534 including 24 deaths and 1,320 recoveries are from Shopian, 1,569 including 33 deaths and 1,192 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,568 including 1,084 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Budgam, 1,273 including 1,010 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,101 including 630 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Bandipora and 689 including 384 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 1,613 including 843 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Jammu district, 763 including 525 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 605 including 547 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 602 including 511 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 625 including 419 recoveries and two deaths are from Udhampur, 522 including 337 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 315 including 277 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 275 including 178 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 228 including 84 recoveries are from Reasi and 165 including 135 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 395,216 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 40,932 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,514 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 297,576 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,716 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 725,542 samples are available. Out of 725,542 the number of samples tested negative stands at 700,175 while as 25,367 have been tested positive, among them 7,514 are active and 17,375 persons have recovered—(KNO)
